I finally broke down and bought a camera! It was inexpensive and came with a memory card and carry case. It's not the best but it gets the job done better than the iPhone was so it's all good.
No challenge - just the pure joy of creating. This is an adorable stamp that I received from a dear friend. She also sent me the paper - which is just the cutest. Of course I had to incorporate my Cricut in here somehow - so he needed a tree. lol
So happy to be back on the creative trail! :)

Happy New Year! There has been no stamping at all happening here. Since the end of October, I've been working around 2 broken fingers. Two wks ago, I thought they were going to re-break one of them which didn't seem to be healing properly. In the end, they did NOT re-break and I'm going to physical therapy to regain mobility.
So I'll leave you with what is happening in my stamp room - wedding supplies are taking over. Here are a few pics of things I'm manuvering around. VERY CAREFULLY I might add. ;)

Peppermint Twist

Today I'm showing you my kitchen tree. Peppermint and gingerbread are such great scents aren't they? I hoard the Bath & Body Works peppermint candle - seriously! Right now there are 6 in my cabinet and when the clearance sales hit - probably 6 more will be grabbed. They still leave a scent hrs. after being put out.
So many people have been doing the "explosion" look at the top & last year I gave it a whirl. It is fun!

Christmas mantel

Today no cards - I thought it would be fun to show you my mantel. Every year I make subtle changes to it & this year I pulled a few of my Santas out & put a large picture up. He was a free print from Ben Franklin ages and ages ago. Do they even still have Ben Franklin stores? The one here closed. Love the faces & spotted a new one at Target that will hopefully end up in my shopping cart. Also added this year are 2 reindeer from Target that I bought years ago on clearance. I always hit the after Christmas clearance sales. .

Today I want to do a post about a blog that I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
A few yrs. ago while checking out HGTV's Rate My Space, I stumbled upon Kristen's pics & a link to her blog. Kristen also has a shop in Etsy and I have purchased several things from her. A beautiful fall flower arrangement, photo album and picture frame. She loves many of the same things I do. Gingerbread/peppermint kitchen decor at Christmas, cream cabinetry, plaid draperies, etc. Sometimes I think it would be super easy to just walk right into her home & make myself comfy cozy. ha ha

Jingle all the way

Let's forget about the iPhone pic shall we and just concentrate on my first attempt using vinyl. After spending way toooo much time on Pinterest, there were so many cute projects with vinyl that I had to take the plunge. Pick Your Plum is a great website for crafters and have daily deals but once it's gone it's gone and they had 4 Christmas color vinyls for $4. The sheets are a good size too. This way if I totally messed up, little $$$ was invested.
After spending quite a while in HL today, this was the closest thing I could find with what my original intent was. The bottom of the frame holds several sizes of jingle bells and then I simply cut a 5 x 5 piece of holiday paper for the back. This will go to my sister so she can put a pic of her granddaughter in it.

What I've been up to...

Not much stamping around here lately. I've been so busy planning a wedding for these two!!! They recently had their engagement pictures done and this is one of my favorite shots. They love the lake near their home and spend a lot of time there walking her dog or boating with friends. It really captures them and love the casual feel the photographer was able to achieve. There is one of her laughing at something he said and she is making an 8 x 10 for me.
Wedding planning is hard work people! Whew!

Found myself with the day off, so I decided to join the Official Magnolia Challenge which is Back to School. Those days are behind me, but thought it would be fun to participate anyway. What popped into my head first was a lunch sack. It's decorated with apples cut out with Cricut cartridge. Although I don't have any school Tildas, this cutie works and added a big honkin' hair accessory (it's a southern thing y'all). ;)

Too soon for Halloween?

Fall can't get here fast enough for me. It has been another horrible heat filled summer and my patio set was used twice for maybe 3 hrs. total - ugh!
So I decided to bust out some Halloween papers/stamps. LOL Love my Hanglar witch and was so happy to have her in my collection. Black/white/orange is one of my favorite color combos and for this card, popped some purple in for good measure. :) Parts of her outfit are colored with orange Smooch, but my camera is officially dead-so my iPhone is all I've got now. My tag is cut out with a Cricut cartridge and I'm planning on cutting out lots of spiders this year to hang on my front porch.

Hard to believe that this has been my only post for August. Such a busy month with no real time for relax and stamp. My family went to Destin, FL for a week of beautiful beach weather. What a wonderful week we had and my daughter found her wedding shoes there! They were perfect - the exact color, height, and gemstones she wanted. We were so excited. Our last night we had a beautiful seafood dinner at sunset with ocean views. You just can't beat moments like that.
I had to add the poppies because of a boo boo with my sentiment - ugh!!!

Hope the heat isn't too terrible where you are? I'm miserable because we have been smack in the middle of this heat wave and it doesn't look like cooler temps anytime soon. I'M MELTING!!!
Today features an adorable LotV stamp from their last release. Oh my how cute is this doggie. Even though it features a cupcake with puppy treats, I think it will work for any birthday. The candle and treats have stickles but they might not be showing up. Have a COOL day!

I hope this counts for a couple of challenges. Just Magnolia is cooking & All That Scraps is summer. Well Tilda is making a big batch of drinks and some cooking might be required right? lol Nothing makes me think of summer more than a nice cold drink and trust me we need them - it was 108 here today! Ack!!!!
I paired my mini chef Tilda with recipe cards and the little orange wrap is holding several of them and just slips off. Love these PTI recipe cards - just great gift presentation. These cards are going to my daughter.

When I saw this week's nautical challenge at Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge I had to play because it is one of my favorite collections! Tilda has a little candy box with chocolate gold coins inside that is going to a friend. I don't have a lot of Cricut cartridges, but am in love with Wrap It Up! I can make a pirate tag, card, box, favor with this one cartridge. There are wedding, Halloween, baby, and other party themes.

I don't have a card today. Today is the birthday of a favorite singer of mine! Jason Mraz!!! I was able to see him in Nashville, as the opening act for Dave Matthews Band. Love his lyrics and the fun atmosphere at his show. Hopefully one day soon, I'll be able to catch a show again.

There are days that you just wish you could make go away. Today is one of those for me. I was going to one of my favorite accounts today. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I learned that my jewelry dept. mgr. had passed away 3 days ago. I stood there stunned for a minute. It was 2 weeks ago that we were sharing the wonderful things going on in our lives. My daughter's wedding plans and her son's college graduation. Pat was a wonderful mgr. and I considered her a friend. I'm posting a card that was sent to her a while back as she recovered from knee surgery. God Bless You Pat! I am blessed to have known you.

Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was spent in Nashville on bridal overload!!! lol
My poor daughter had no idea how much planning goes into these and got just a tad overwhelmed and we are just in the beginning phases of this. She was able to get quite a bit accomplished in 2 days and we made lots of notes. My first assignment is to paint/decorate a birdcage for the cards/$ to go in. Plus she's letting me have complete design of the candy buffet - woo hoo!!!
Anyway - check out my Wynonna Tilda. LOL How bright is that red hair? At first I didn't like it - but since it's not a hair color I practice with Copics; obviously a few more attempts are needed. ;) Not sure if you can see, but stars were stamped in Versamark around Tilda.

It feels like forever since I've made a card. Lately it's been looking at venues, flowers, dresses, favors, etc., etc., etc. Some days the thought of looking at one more thing makes me sick. Other days it's so much fun looking at weddings, ideas. Yesterday was an aha moment for the grooms cake (southern tradition) and everyone is on board! YEA!
Anyhoo...this Tilda was an exclusive to the Netherlands and Tilda is obviously excited about something. Again using my favorite Kaisercraft Tea at Elsie's paper.

Tilda at the Kentucky Derby

Who knew Tilda would walk the red carpet at the Kentucky Derby? LOL With all the fabulous hats (and some ugly ones) from the royal wedding and today at the Derby - Tilda had to make an appearance. How I wish I had the Magnolia horse to add to this card - but Tilda is still looking good standing by the fencing. The horses are truly magnificent to look at -so powerful and beautiful. I decided to dress my fence up with roses.
BTW - if you watch the pre-Derby show - Bobby Flay will feature someone from my town. Moonlight restaurant is known worldwide and will be on with him.

Daffodil Days

Please keep the states affected by the tornadoes in your prayers. Seeing those images just takes me back to when my home was hit by a tornado. In a few minutes time, my neighborhood went from normal to looking like a war zone. It breaks my heart to see the devestation, but joy to see the kindness of strangers.
Now to my card...I combined the new Tilda with daffodil and a CC Designs bench.
My orange hinge was originally white but used a Copic marker to change it more to my liking. Have a wonderful day.

This is my daughter's Easter card. She won't be home for Easter and will be off for a mini vacation with her boyfriend.
Even though she is grown I always send her a chocolate bunny. LOL

Hope you are having the beautiful sunny day that I'm enjoying. This is my first "official" Cricut card. My sister and her family are coming home this summer (I HOPE) and we will be celebrating a little early my great niece's 1st birthday. I'm going to have an owl themed party at my house. LOL I want to make cupcake toppers, bunting, etc. with a cartridge called Hoot 'n Holler. Now don't look too close because I'm still learning how to adjust the pressure for different papers, etc. Anyway, this is my "dummy" for her b'day card from me. The challenge this week is buttons and bows at Flutterby Wednesday. The bow was easy because it's on his butterfly net. This is one of my favorite Lili of the Valley stamps. His glasses make me smile every time I get this stamp out. I ran out of glassy accents, so I just used a clear glitter pen. Today I decided to use some Queen & Co. flowers and mini brad. They look so cute with this image/papers.

This is what a legend looks like. When I was in middle school, I remember my grandmother talking about Elizabeth Taylor and what she was doing and who she was marrying. Her face was on the cover of magazines at the checkout lanes. She was the Angelina Jolie of her time. She was stunning, she seemed to have men fall at her feet, she had multiple marriages, difficult pregnancies, the 1st actress to receive $1 million for a picture,one of the first actresses to have her own perfume, one of the first celebrities to attach themselves to a cause (AIDS). Everyone knew who she was, the color of her eyes, what scandal surrounding her. But above anything she was a fabulous actress. I remember watching Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and being mesmerized by her in that film (she won an Oscar that year). In a world where you are a celebrity for being in a scandal or reality tv - it's sad that a true legend has left us today. Rest in peace.

Magnolia-licious project

Today is the project that I'm entering for the Magnolia-licious Easter/spring contest. This was just perfect timing, because I'm doing an Easter swap and we are also creating a little project. I've had this carrot template forever and used to get a lot of use from it when I was a Sunday School teacher. This adorable bunny is meant for the carrot. Added Smooch to his tail. I'm also making a few extras to give a special little boy and to my great niece. She is only 6 mos. old, so I'll tuck a little surprise inside. This carrot has Wild Orchid Crafts roses tucked inside (same as the ones used on yesterday's card). To give it a little dimension, I added some white chalk ink to the fold lines and love the look it gives. Of course, I had to use the May Arts gingham ribbon. Obsessed I am with this ribbon!!! LOVE it.

Magnolia-licious Easter/Spring Contest

Hope you had a great weekend! There is a fabulous contest at Magnolia-licious. It is a Spring/Easter theme with 3 categories. 1. A Magnolia card 2. A project 3. A card featuring mini Magnolias.
This card is going to a friend who I'm doing an Easter swap with. Perfect timing right? There are incredible cards/projects already uploaded, but this card really makes me happy, so I'm entering it.
It uses my favorite dp right now-Tea at Elsie's by Kaisercraft. I'm a sucker for bold colors and this really doesn't have a bad paper in the bunch. For the tail, I decided to use Smooch instead of the obvious puff paint or Flowersoft. There are also tiny areas on the card hit with orange Smooch.

All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge

When I saw the Magnolia challenge at All That Scraps - pastels with a touch of brown! WHAT? It didn't sound appealing at all, however, Pam made the most adorable card as inspiration. If this challenge had not been posted, I never would have come up with this color combo and it really does POP even with pastels being used. Hope you are having a good weekend so far!

Well I'm posting-so guess what the weather is? Yep rain and lots of it! The challenge this week on Lovely hAnglar Only is red, white, black/grey with the option of buttons. I had a paper pad from Valentine's Day that didn't get a lot of use, so it came in handy for this challenge. For my sentiment, I didn't use the entire saying and just inked up what I wanted.

This week at Flutterby Wednesday is this beautiful picture. Unfortunately it's pouring rain here again. Seems like everytime I post a card, it's raining.
Not sure if you can see from the picture, but I've added Smooch to the elevated areas of the cloud with the embossing. White gel pen was used on the 2 smaller clouds. Baby steps with the Cricut-used it to make the 2 ovals behind the image. Happy sunshiny day wherever you are I hope!

The weekend is almost here and boy am I glad. It has been a long work week and I'm dragging. Last night I realized this CUTE Tilda had not been inked up yet. Many nights I'll color while watching tv. My pattern paper is at least 6 yrs. old. ACK! However, it's perfect with this image and next time I'll add the balloons to the background. This week at Just Magnolia is anything goes - with GLITTER. I'm addicted to Stardust Stickles, so this was perfect timing.

Today is another Teddy Bo card. Well this is actually a Teddy Bea with a cute little friend. I colored this image last week and forgot about it until flipping through papers and discovered it tucked in with them. lol Do you ever do that? Totally addicted to these sweet images and there are several new ones. I even bought one that is a clown and I've never bought a clown image EVER!!! Hit the flowers with Stardust Stickles - love the sparkle it gives.

Today I'm showing you a card with new images/papers. This Hanglar girl has a new hairstyle that is very cute. The oval with hand is glued down and can be used with lots of Hanglars and maybe Magnolias. My new Kaisercraft Gypsy paper is so vivid and I'm really loving turquoise right now (reminds me of my grandmother). The panel with the image actually lifts up and the note is inside. Entering this for the Lovely Hanglar Only challenge to use 2 images. The girl and oval count as 2 - yea!

This week on Flutterby Wednesday it's all about rainbows. Two yrs. ago while on a cruise with my daughter, we saw a stunning rainbow in the Bahamas. Right smack in the middle of beautiful waters of blues/greens was a rainbow - took our breath away.
I didn't have any rainbow paper, but did find this paper which works ok. I decided to go grab flowers with most of the colors.

This flatware was a major score a few yrs. ago at Target. They were clearance from the $1 section - 25 cents for a place setting people!!!!!!!!! So 8 place settings for $2. WOW was all I could say. ;)

Today I'm showing the Valentine's day card that I'm giving to my son. He LOVES music (wonder where he gets that). I bought this set because a lot of times I'll give him iTunes gift cards, cds, or gift certificates to his favorite video store. Not a set normally that would end up in my home, but I do love it and it really makes a great presentation for gifts. If you click on the picture, you might see that I covered the guitar with Spica clear glitter pen - so sparkly. I'm staying home today because my shoulders are a little sore from yesterday's exciting events.

This card has been the only bright spot in my day. It is 10 degrees here - snow/slush/ice. This morning was running around trying to get some things done before it really started. I was almost home free...pulling into my subdivision and then SLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIDE!!! ugh I can't see any damage but I'm sure my husband will find something that I might have missed. So to calm myself down, started working on this card. The Flutterby Wednesday challenge is to use 3 hearts and I'm pretty sure that I met that challenge. ;)

Today I decided to give Teddy Bea a little love. While thinking about this card, my initial plan was to have her sit on the word hugs, but it covered up the word too much. Oh well...hope she isn't lost on the card because she is a tad smaller. Love that this card could be for Valentine's Day, someone going through a tough time, or even a birthday card!

Are you ready for some football? lol Game time is about an hour away. Since my team isn't in it, I'll root for the Green Bay Packers. After all, that's where my son was born. It only seems right. ;)

Last year I bought this Tilda and love her cute pigtails. This year I added the BIG letter and so glad that I did - it can be used any time of year.

This will more than likely be my last post until the new year. My life is extremely busy right now and we are bracing for a possible ice storm tonight. Can things get any more stressful? LOL
The title is a play on 2 of my favorite things. I have collected heart ornaments for over 30 yrs. Also my favorite Christmas cd is by Harry Connick, Jr. Love the jazzy sounds he adds to holiday music and when shopping in the stores and one of his songs begins to play, I'm humming along.

A second post for today - wow that's really good for me. Today turned out to be a short day (love those). I'm linking up to another Holiday decorating blog - vignettes.

This is my hallway as you enter my house. Since I like to switch things up each year, this year I went with a red/white theme. My favorite candles are featured (oops forgot to take the wrappers off). They are from Pier 1 and each year I go and buy several. It sends the most delicious scent throughout your home! I found these cute mice at Trees 'n Trends. Tons of great ideas if you have one near you.

Here is a close-up shot of my cute little mice! Notice one is holding a heart! I have a serious heart collection in Christmas ornaments. This year I will be adding 2 new beautiful green glass hearts that I found at Macy's.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Mine was nice and a new sweet treat I made was a big hit. Have you heard of mini desserts in a shot glass? They are pretty hot right now so I made mini banana pudding shots (no rum). LOL Every single person asked me if there was alcohol in them because of the shot glass.
Anyway...I found time to color yesterday while watching the Titans play an ugly game. One of the Pure Innocence images that is a favorite. NOTICE my new die???? Hmmmmm...it's a My Favorite Things die and although it's pricey, so glad to have bought it. It's been sold out several times.

Stocking Were Hung

Hope you had a good weekend! You know you're addicted to stamps when this entire card started with a sentiment from a $1 set. I had a clear stamp set with 4 sentiments, so that's like a quarter a sentiment. So after looking at the Magnolia Merry Little Christmas Collection, I picked up the fireplace. Next I wanted the Tilda sitting but she's sold out everywhere, so this giggling Tilda was my second choice. You know what? I really like her a lot! Of course, to take it to a whole different level, I purchased a card scents called Fireplace. Seriously!!! I mean a 25 cent sentiment cost me some $. But these are stamps that will be used again and again! So it all works out right? Hope your weekend was great! This week I'm going to make snowmen themed cards and it can't be any easier than with this sweet digi. She is the same artist who does the Pure Innocence images. Sometimes a card doesn't go quite the way we wanted and that's ok. I'm going to post this anyway, because I have a solution to my problem. ;)
My idea to use the sheet music with Nestabilities - good. My cutting a small mat around our singers - not so good. However, I'm order some new circle sentiments from LotV tonight (can't wait) and will cover up the lower right hand corner boo boo. I'm really not good at cutting, too impatient probably. :)

Isn't she just the cutest thing ever! Sneaky Tilda is in the Merry Little Christmas release, but she is definitely a year round stamp. I paired her up with some new paper from All That Scraps and when it arrived what a surprise to see how bright it is. But after coloring Tilda, I adore it. I'm waiting for the new LotV sentiment stamps to use with her.

Yeah - it's Friday!!! This may very well become my *NEW* favorite Magnolia. The minute I saw her she had to be mine. The Just Magnolia challenge this week was to use beads. How is your day going? Today has been perfect weather - 60's with a slight breeze and I only worked a 1/2 day. YES!!!
I'm participating in a Magnolia card kit swap and these were the pieces in my kit, so why not just go ahead a make a card right? My kit actually included buttons and an embossed piece of cs with cherries on it. Can you have too many cherry papers, accessories - I think not. :) I'll add a sentiment later (which happens on 70% of the cards I post)
