Run for the Roses

No card today! I thought that I would share with you some pictures taken at sunrise this morning as my daughter and husband head off to The Oaks at Churchill Downs. For those that don't know, The Oaks is the day of racing before The Kentucky Derby (it's a little more for the serious racing fans, but still tons of celebrities). Man was this outfit a funny event. She lives in another state and was in Macy's taking pictures and sending them to me to approve/disapprove. Then late last night we made a run to Kohl's and picked up these super cute hot pink shoes and her necklace. She felt like she was attending a funeral, so we decided to add a pop of color. So in cardmaking - this would be PTI's Razzleberry Fizz. LOL

Here is a close-up of her hat. BEAUTIFUL - love the little rhinestones and we found a necklace that had the same design. Have you picked a horse yet for tomorrow's big race? I'm going with Sydney's Candy. I gave her strict instructions this morning that if ANYONE from LOST walks the red carpet, that she take a picture. LOL

Paper Sundaes Challenge

Hanglar Butterfly

Sorry for the bad picture - it's cloudy and raining here today. Yesterday found me down for the count with a migraine, so sat up for a little and colored this Hanglar & Spanglar butterfly. Then I didn't think there were any papers in my stash that would work. As luck would have it, BG Green at Heart had the perfect papers and butterflies on it no less. :)

This is a really FUN week - because it's just go for it! LOL YES this is a Magnolia image, just not what you expected right?

Today found time to pop into a store that I don't go into all that often, but so glad today was the day. OMG - I'm in love with MME Quite Contrary! Must go back and buy more but they didn't have it in the 6x6 pad (not even sure if that's an option).

This card is going to a very special friend - there's a little joke behind this card and I hope she gets a giggle out of it. Have a fabulous weekend!

Pink Ladybug

No you haven't stumbled onto the wrong blog!!! ha ha

This sweet Tilda recently arrived at my door from a dear friend, Anna. The obvious color choice was red, but wait...no, let's try something different. Rachel has these really cool Zva pearl and rhinestone swirls that I've always loved on OTHER people's cards, but too afraid to use on my own (terrified I'd mess up). So casting all fear and obvious color choice aside, I went for it. ACK!!! My hands were shaking the entire time.

DWTS - Yeah on who went home - it was about time.

LOST - My favorite line last night belonged to Sawyer "and that pilot, who looks like he stepped off a Burt Reynold's movie set"

Baby Shower - Take 1

My niece is expecting her first child (daughter) in August. I've volunteered to make the invitations, party favors, and thank you notes for her. When she was married a couple of yrs. ago, I did the invitations for her bridal shower. Sposabella was used then, so it seemed fitting to use another Bella for baby. :) She actually is using polka dots for her cake, plates, etc., so it was meant to be. These colors are too bright it turns out and she wants soft pinks and chocolate, so it's back to the drawing board. Now as luck would have it, there is another blonde I know expecting, so this card won't be wasted. Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

Just Magnolia

This week's challenge is to "punch it out". I went with one of MS border punches, because it copies the design of the blooms on the tree (from the new Easter collection).
This was originally a card that I was tinkering with for a tree swap I'm in. It was colored, stickled, and just needed the sentiment. Blah! Messed it up, but 'ya know what? I'm going to embrace the imperfection. LOL

This may actually be the week I attempt 2 cards for this challenge. I have the perfect cupcake digi for this, but it's being extremely difficult to print for some reason. UGH!

Anyway, the colors really called to me and all the little dots of icing. Thanks for looking and if the digi problem can be fixed, there will most definitely be another card. The image is made for this week.

Channeling Anna!

OK, so my friend, Anna, has this talent for multi-tasking when cardmaking. She will combine several challenges into 1 card. Makes my head hurt. However, today I wanted to channel her talent. This is my attempt to pay tribute to several of my friends. Here we go...

Rachel - who inspires me weekly with her cupcake challenges. She found a red challenge and forwarded it on to me. Red is my FAV color in case you don't know.

Tammi - for always creating with so many great embellishments, like these twirly things. I would never come up with that on my own.
