Trick or Treat

I'm still thinking Fall/Halloween. This is another digi image from All That Scraps. Also busted out a new nestabilities set.
DWTS - some surprises!! I never expected the Iron Chef host to be so light on his feet for some reason. So it looks like 2 of the 3 that I picked for my top choices did well. Donny & Aaron. Was it just me or did Macy Gray seem like she would rather be at the dentist than on the show.
Let's see how the ladies do tonight!

ATS Fall

Good morning!!! Now normally I would NOT say that on a Monday, but DWTS starts tonight and I'm super excited. My top picks before tonight are Donny Osmond, Mya, and Aaron Carter. Mostly because these people are singers and dancing is required for their shows. So we'll see if there are any surprises!!
Fall is beginning for me - rain yesterday/this morning. Leaves are beginning to drop and cool breezes. LOVE this time of year, so I decided to use a new ATS digi image and a CB ef on clearance at ATS ($2). Don't know if it's sold out yet, but man am I loving this folder. Pretty simple design. Hope you have a toe tapping day! LOL
Stamps - ATS digi image (Emma pumpkin)

CIC24

Ahoy 'me mateys!!!!!!!!!!! Rachel has done it again!!!! Not only did she find a cute set of cupcakes for Talk Like A Pirate Day, but she helped me use a SU Wheel that I've had for over a year and not inked!!!! I had to have this wheel because I'm addicted to LOST, and well it's cute. LOL Boy did I use a bunch of Copic markers to get the rich beautiful aqua water that I saw in the Bahamas. Seriously, it's breathtaking. Light green, blue, turquoise, deep rich navy colors WOW
Next week I won't be able to play in the challenge, but will definitely check out her inspiration anyway. Have a SUPER FUN WEEKEND!!!!!

Just Magnolia - Embossing

Can I say that this card turned out exactly the way I had hoped!!!!!!!! Rarely happens ;)
Embossing is the theme to the Just Magnolia Challenge this week. Decided to use everything that screams ME - Magnolia, red, and hearts. My SIL is having daughter issues (haven't we all been there) so this is going to her and hope it makes her smile!!!
My daughter's birthday is in 8 days, so today will be making her 2 cards (or maybe her brother will actually make one AGAIN this year). We found some really cute wine items at Michael's in the 10 for $10 section (30% off) and he's making her a little themed gift. Have a great day!!!

CIC23

Whew!!! Finally got Rachel's CIC done. I have got to get my stamps organized because it took me 2 days to find this stamp. Do you organize by company, seasons, etc.?
Anyway, I was drawn to that gorgeous red flower and knew this was the stamp for me! Pretty simple card, but it tends to be my style. Still trying to work on my other challenge card. Shhhh!!!

Goth Pumpkin

My daughter was home this past weekend and was looking at a Halloween magazine that I had. She commented on a pumpkin on the cover and how she liked it. Since her birthday is in about a week, this is what I did tonight. The cover featured an orange pumpkin, but this white/black pumpkin will go in just about any room of her condo. She also spotted some candles decorated, so I picked up a few cream candles and put a little bling on them too.
Finally found a stamp to use for Rachel's challenge this week, so hopefully that will get done Friday night or Saturday. Happy FRIDAY!!!

Meet Squeak!

This is Squeak - he has a sister Bubbles! LOL This is a set that I stumbled upon when shopping for the Fairy Doodles. Look at that face - plus he has a heart on his tummy, so DUH - he had to be mine. I did some masking to put the balloon behind him (quickly becoming another signature I fear). The set also comes with several sentiments and a present, cupcake, & butterfly. Hopefully I can get around to introducing you to Bubbles soon. Need to think about Rachel's cupcake this week-hmmmm

Extreme Home makeover HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Today was the big reveal for a family in my town - they are going to be on ABC's Extreme Home makeover this fall!!!!!!!!!! The "secret" was released about a week ago, but the family was not revealed until TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! We have a Friday After Five concert summer series on the Ohio River and several of the cast showed up and toasted the sunset with volunteers, sponsors, etc. One thing that I truly believe in are random acts of kindness. A few weeks ago I was part of a chain of RAKS at a McDonalds. It just makes my heart feel good to see people who are thoughtful and kind. Of course, this is no small act - it's HUGE!!!!!!!!!! They are filming with Ty right NOW and being whisked off on vacation. The house is being demolished tonight and building starts Sunday. They will return on September 12th to see the new home that ABC has built for them. The father is a volunteer fireman who was hit by a car while he was directing traffic at a fire. Two of the children have mild/moderate disabilities.
Just wanted to share this great news with you and hope you catch the show this fall!

JM-Sketch by Mina

Good morning! Today is a great sketch by Mina for Just Magnolia. Part of the sketch called for 3 stripes (panels) so I used a paper with stripes/panels already built in for me. Whew! My sentiment is a little lower than on the sketch, but all in all, I'm pretty happy with this card. Have you seen the sneak peeks for the Yummy Magnolia set - too cute. Anxiously awaiting for them to be available. The Tilda with the big spoon behind her will be my first purchase.

Ribbitt!

The other day I was in Hobby Lobby shopping and look what I spied on a new peg. This cute Penny Black acrylic set ended up in my shopping cart. Usually PB flowers are what I'm drawn to, but he has a cute little heart at the end of his fishing pole - c'mon-who can resist this? LOL
My love affair with BG Lemonade continues. The colors are just so fun!!! Have a great day!

Megan

Megan loves her Crest whitestrips! lol Smooch really makes her smile bright.
I have to share a funny story about the corner punches used on this card. OK, so I picked up this MS border/corner set. Bust it open and start playing with it. Ummm...ok, so where is the guide for the corner punch. I mean how far do I need to put the paper in? On the scratch paper I got close, but still... Look Martha is Martha for a reason, so upon further investigation (basically picking up the corner punch and look at it closely) there are little "wings" that pop out in order to make this whole border/corner thing to work. DUH!!! It was my Jessica Simpson moment.
Stamps - The Greeting Farm Megan
Paper - BG Lemonade & GP white
Ink - Brilliance and Copic/Prismacolor pens

RAK

I have a few projects in the half-finished pile, so today I wanted to share a card that showed up at my door last week. This gorgeous card is from Anne Ryan. If you are on SCS regularly, you know who Anne Ryan is. She always leaves comments on cards, even going into detail about what she likes about it. Too many times, I find that my comments are "cute" "adorable". Hey some comment is better than no comment right? Anyway, Anne & I have been sending a few messages back and forth (she wants me to dump the blog - lol) and just stick with SCS. That girl cracks me up she is so funny.
Look at that bow!!! WOW It's gorgeous and there is no way I could tie a bow that great. She also used my FAV color and obviously she knows that hearts are my signature thing. I love this card. I'll also be posting it on SCS (after the switch over is done).

CIC22

This cupcake is a simple design and yet so striking. If I tried to make this, there would be cherry juice running all over that gorgeous fondant that looks like it has been embossed. At least I think it's fondant. lol Anyway, I was drawn to the black/white/red combo. SU Rockabilly paper was a great choice, the other side of the polka dot paper are cherries, so both would have worked. My friend, Anna, is the guest designer for this challenge. Love her design and use of crystals and embossing folder. I decided to take a few of her ideas and incorporate them into my card. Go to www.hopestampseternal.blogspot.com and play along. It's the sweetest challenge you'll play in!
Stamps - Stampendous clear cupcake set
