This past week was big for me in many ways. 1. I went to see Harry Connick, Jr. in Nashville and he brought me to tears. Harry is from New Orleans and was one of the hosts of the telethon for Katrina. His face was in such pain that night on tv. He loves that city so much. Halfway during the concert he talked about the Super Bowl. He was in Titan country, but the minute he said "Super Bowl" most people yelled out "Who Dat" and a little girl came to the edge of the stage and handed him beads. He lifted her up and gave her a kiss. AHHHHHHH!!!
Then he explained to us how much it means to the people. I won't go into the entire story, but he said that when people were giving up hope, leaving the city, the only thing they still clung to was their beloved team. Being at the football games was EVERYTHING to them. He said that he sat next to a nun at the Super Bowl and she was just prayin' & prayin' (this may or may not have have actually happened) lol By the time he finished I had big tears welling up, just sitting there waiting to spill out - was I the only one? No I noticed many people wiping their eyes.
2. I have lighted my work load. Too much on my plate and it was getting the best of me, so I made the decision to resign from one of the companies I represent. Now there is more time to relax and STAMP! Woo Hoo
Stamps - Miss Anya Collection - Hero Arts sentiment
Paper - Old Su pp
Ink - Memento and Copics, chalk ink for sponging
Misc. - Nestabilities, MS punch, PTI buttons (spring collection), flowers (?)
